corporate design for an arts project launched by Northern Ireland Railways
project at University of Ulster in Belfast
logo, info brochure: format (unfolded) A3, posters: format A1

The “artlink” project offers artists the possibility of exhibiting their works at Northern Irish railway stations. The basic idea of its corporate design is “connection” because the railway links locally and art mentally, which means that it provides a basis for conversations and encourages to reflect on certain things.

The concept is visualised by lines connecting stations. They symbolise art and therefore they are made of different materials and drawn with various pencils and brushes.

To gain artists for participation, an info brochure is posted to them. A two-phase advertising campaign is designed to arouse public interest. At first, posters simply showing dots are on display. If they get connected, words describing things that can be discovered at railway stations due to the arts project will be visible. They are called “culture”, “imagination” and “inspiration”. In phase two the posters are replaced by the ones where the words are completely legible.
